Introduction:

As one of the greatest critics in shanghai, Wu Liang, with his serious and perspicacious manner, has been renowned in the circles of both literature and art from 1980s. At the age of 60, he surprisingly moves up to the novel writing and this April published his first novel Zhao Xia — a recording of a sensitive and consciousness feelings, a mysterious Shanghai as well as crowds of nowhere-to-hide man. The late famous French writer Roland Barthes is the key figure who influenced Wu Liang to write this novel. How did Roland influence his writing and what’s the in and out view of Zhao Xia?
